    Stop Uwe Boll

Hate Uwe Boll's movies? I mean, do you really hate them to the point you want Uwe Boll to just stop making them? He's agreed to stop making films if 1,000,000 signatures were added to this online petition.

But online petitions never work! This one actually has the backing of Mr. Boll himself.
When FearNet mentioned to Boll a petition online signed by 18,000 people requesting that he cease making films, Boll responded that "18,000 is not enough to convince me." So how much would be enough?

"One million," Boll said. "Now we have a new goal."
At present there are over 117,000 signatures. So why not toss in your support.

Everyone should sign this. For proof, check if you've seen any of his movies:

    Really, people: they're all crap.

They're pretty crappy, but I just see them as fan films. In which case, they're above average quality. I don't feel compelled to stop him from making movies, but I would hope people don't get disillusioned with game-to-movie adaptations based on his films. But you know what? No one has really done a good adaptation. So far almost all of them have made the same mistakes. They need to make movies in the same universe as the games, not the game plots themselves. It just doesn't work that way.

You people do realise that online petitions mean squat, right? And you do realise that he won't stop making movies even if it hits 2 million signatures.. right?

..He already has about 6 movies in the works, so him actually stopping with what he's doing will be nothing short of a miracle.

Hey, Tomb Raider (the first one) made an awesome video game movie. The second wasn't too bad, but suffered from sequelitis.

            You sir, are an idiot.

The first Tomb Raider was a good stab at it.

The first Resident Evil film - tiny shoe string budget aside - was created to explain the games themselves and did so perfectly. I won't argue for the second and thirds ones though which go completely against the games.

Silent Hill was a good adaption, as good and as worthy of the SH tag as anyone could have hoped for. The few changes they made were very much justified, and in many respects I think they improved on the original material.

DOA was... entertaining, at least. 90% of the characters were kept the same as they were in game, and the basic plot is identical to the early games. There's just a few inconsistencies which are mostly side-plots anyway. I won't excuse the terrible acting and the casting wasn't great either, but in terms of being a game adaption, it did a bang-up job.

The first Mortal Kombat film is widely regarded as being again, about as good as anyone could have hoped for, given it's based off a game with near-zero story.

Sure, there's been Uwe's crap, the Mario film(s), the Street Fighter film (though I argue that the SF film is entertainingly bad), the second Tomb Raider, and the second and third RE films (which actually I really enjoy - I'm just granting you that they don't fit the plot of the games well at all). But that's true of anything in life; there will always be some crap examples of [whatever] for you to point to. But in almost all cases there's also lots of good things, and game-to-film adaptations are included in that. You think these films never stick to the game's plot? Then you've been watching the wrong films.

But yes. This petition won't do shit. If Uwe was willing to stop making films for [any reason], he would have already done so by now - he's fully aware his films get panned, he's fully aware that lots of people don't like them. If he's not stopped by now, he won't just because of this. After all, his films do usually make some small profit anyway, so as long as the money is rolling in, why stop?

yeah, first res evil was good imo, same with tomb raider and mortal kombat (mortal kombat for just severe awesomeness). I even thought silent hill kicked amazing ass until the ending, which imo had horrible cg and acting.

              I signed the petition.

Some petitions worked, such as people wanting a limited edition of Bioshock. But in this case, it won't work at all.

I feel conflicted on this one. On the one hand, all of Uwe Boll's films are horrible. Yet on the other, I have this sadistic part of me that wants to watch them anyway, simply to find out if the next one will be as horrible as the family it's joining.

So yes, the healthy part of me wishes for him to stop, but the sick part of me will decide to watch "In the Name of the King" eventually, assuming I (somehow) don't end up having to pay money to do so.

What a smart publicity stunt. Get your name out there by getting millions to sign a non-legal imaginary petition.

I've never heard of this guy before this was posted.

He didn't create the petition, only acknowledged it with his "promise."

And you've never heard of him? Lucky you.

In case you don't feel like watching the tard talk, here's a transcript for you...

Uwe Boll response to online petition:
"So hi here's Uwe Boll and um, I have a statement to make about that internet petition. Um there's a petition out 'stop Uwe Boll' and I said like if there are one million people on that petition I stop actually making movies, and um, I want that is a petition also out there like a pro-Boll petition, and I expect a million votes pro-Boll, and uh I hope somebody would set it up and you all start signing it.
                          and he continues...
"Because look, I’m not a f***ing retard like Michael Bay or other people running around in the business or Eli Roth making the same s***ty movies over and over again. If you really look at my movies you will see my real genius, you know, and if you go on May 23 on Postal you will see that I deliver a movie what nobody else delivered in the last 10 years, what is way better as all that social critic George Clooney bulls*** what you get every f***ing weekend. You have to really wake up and you have to see me what I am. I am the only genius in the whole f***ing business. Goodbye."
Gotta admire the English abilities of the only genius in the whole business...

I haven't seen any of his movies and simply from Nighthawk's quote I can tell they suck. "I am the only genius in the business."

No, there's several people like you, and all of their movies suck.
