1.3 Million for Call of Duty 4; Map Pack Interview

Infinity Ward has stated that Call of Duty 4 tops out at 1.3 million players every day, and this is just on the Xbox 360 platform. This may come as no surprise to anyone who follows the news posted by Major Nelson, where a weekly "top 10" are posted for the most popular Live games for the week. For the past few weeks, Call of Duty 4 has claimed the top spot, besting out the heavy hitter from Bungie, Halo 3.

There are even more on the other platforms [PS3 and PC], but we just don't have the same numbering system. Overall, even without the other consoles, we are beating the competition. PS3 numbers are monstrously huge. No other game has come close, either online current, or total unique users in a day.

I doubt the numbers claim. The most I've ever seen on CoD4 at any time of day (or night) on the 360 is 170,000 people. I've seen it drop to as little as 8,000 at some times. I seriously doubt that even for the whole day combined, there are 1.3 million different people playing CoD4 on XBL each day.





But yeah, CoD4 has still killed Halo, Gears Of War, Bioshock, and as already killed Rainbow Six Vegas 2, though that did beat out CoD4 for about one day. Anyone who hasn't got CoD4 on some platfrom is missing out.

lol, thats insane numbers, but yet again kinda weird to see that many on at once. Maybe they are thinking "all" platforms might be more logical. But hey CoD4 is one of the greatest games so far I've played.
