Unreal Engine 4 - Made with Next-Gen Consoles in Mind

Epic has decided that consoles are the way to go when developing their next engine, Unreal Engine 4. Speaking with TG Daily, Epic's CEO Tim Sweeney, spoke about DirectX 10, 32-bit Vista, Unreal Engine 4, and the extreme gap between low-end and high-end PC's.

There is a second part to this interview that talks specifically about UE4 being a major player on next-gen consoles first, with PC's playing backup.
Version 4 will exclusively target the next console generation, Microsoft's successor for the Xbox 360, Sony's successor for the Playstation 3 - and if Nintendo ships a machine with similar hardware specs, then that also. PCs will follow after that.
This is a bit shocking to hear this given Epic's focus on first developing their engines for use on PC and then moving on to consoles. It's a good thing Epic is part of the PC Gaming Alliance!

This is just rediculous. Their latest release (Unreal Tournament 3) was not well received on the PC because it was released in a very buggy form, and people did not enjoy it. The only reason they had success on the PS3 is because there isn't much selection as it is, and people want to get some use out of the console even if it means buying an average game.

    Shame on Epic.
