Crysis Coming to the PS3 - Rumor Control

File this one under the category of "OMG LOL RUMOR." A UK based PlayStation magazine, PSW, apparently "knows" that Crysis will be headed to the PlayStation 3 at some point in the near future.

First up, we have Crysis. Now it's no secret that Crysis is coming to PS3 this year. The excitable, hard-worked coders over at Crytek have said as much in many interviews - they've even produced a new, multi-platform engine in readiness - but the real juice here is that it won't be a straight conversion of the PC game. We understand PS3 Crysis will be an almost 50% new game, with many of the original games staff taken off PC Crysis months before release to begin to work on Crysis 2 and a port to PS3 that will include aspects of the sequel - but a new structure, environments, weapons and enemies will feature on PS3. This should be one of the year's biggest console shooters.

Really? I mean, seriously? The developers have only been denying the creation or existence of any console port of Crysis since the beginning. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Same old outdated bullcrap. Magazine lead times cause stupid rumors from months *before* an issue's publication to resurface weeks *after* the developers have time and time again denied it.

The difference is, at no point did they ever say there'd be a console version of Crysis. So it was always denied, before... during... and after any lead time there was.

True. Probably just another case like many I saw on blogs and message boards galore of people seeing "Crytek to demo CryEngine 2 on consoles" to mean "OMFG CRYSIS COMING TO CONSOLES!!!"
