Valve Confirms No L4D for PS3; Wii in the Future?

Valve, in talking with videogaming247 confirmed that there is no current plans to port Left 4 Dead onto the PS3. Could Counter-Strike be part of the reason that there isn't a PS3 port?
“EA wanted to do Orange Box on PS3 and they handled it, said Lombardi. “Left 4 Dead isn’t coming out on PS3 because we’ve not had that call. If the phone rang we would have the conversation, certainly, but it hasn’t happened.

Lombardi suggested that Left 4 Dead’s Counter-Strike origins might have made it less appealing to PlayStation audiences and the publishers trying to serve them.
PlayStation's origins? Japan? The PS3 is constantly popular in Japan compared to the 360, and American games don't always seem to do so hot over there. Am I thinking correctly here? Probably not, but none the less there still won't be any L4D for the PS3. You guys are going to miss out on something special. As for the Wii, well...
Lombardi also revealed that, “If Valve were to develop in-house for another format, it would be the Wii. It’s growing, there’s already a huge user-base, and it’s fun. Source is really scaleable. We can do that.
Note the can do that, not a will do that. There's a glimmer of hope there for Valve titles to one day appear on the Wii.

I can't find this game fun or any better on PS3. I own all the consoles too.

Don't mean to nitpick here, but the first sentence of the second non-quoted paragraph compares the PS3 to..itself. o_O

On a side note, owning all the consoles and a good PC eliminates any need for people to complain.

i own a wii, 360, ps3, and a bad ass computer. So i don't really care. But i get a bit pissed when people start hating on valve for not supporting the ps3. Valve is being straight up and honest when they say they dont want to deal with porting a game to ps3. If they thought it was worth their time to do it then they would.

Shit you single? Any man who has ALL the consoles PLUS a PC has to be the most awesome piece of godly meat on the face of the earth.

            Now THAT's sarcasm!

Either way, the game will rock, FPS was meant to be played on PC.

Yeah, fps was meant to be played w/ a mouse and keyboard; fortunately, Epic Games went the right way and let people play UT3 on ps3 w/ mouse and keyboard if someone didn't want to use the controller You know what? Maybe I should support Epic a little more- they're a pretty good developer.

I have a relatively good computer and a Wii. If a game developer doesn't want to port to a platform, then they don't have to, nuff said.

Eh, I don't know about L4D on the Wii. Sure, it'd be fun, but it's definitely a game I'd rather play on my computer, rather than my Wii. Or even my 360, for that matter.

Wii seems more suited for rails shooters, like Umbrella Chronicles, than it is for true FPS.

I dunno. I find it easier to 'aim' with the pointer than with a mouse. It's more intuitive. However, I find it easier to move with keyboard and a mouse controlling the camera. I could probably get used to Wii with nunchuk, though.

In general, though, I prefer fps as a keyboard mouse, unless I can get two analog sticks, one for movement, one for aiming.

The two analog thing screwed me up for a long time on console shooters.. only reason I'm now used to it is because I made myself learn when Halo 3 came out so people would stop telling me to get it.
