Valve, in talking with videogaming247 confirmed that there is no current plans to port Left 4 Dead onto the PS3. Could Counter-Strike be part of the reason that there isn't a PS3 port?
“EA wanted to do Orange Box on PS3 and they handled it, said Lombardi. “Left 4 Dead isn’t coming out on PS3 because we’ve not had that call. If the phone rang we would have the conversation, certainly, but it hasn’t happened.PlayStation's origins? Japan? The PS3 is constantly popular in Japan compared to the 360, and American games don't always seem to do so hot over there. Am I thinking correctly here? Probably not, but none the less there still won't be any L4D for the PS3. You guys are going to miss out on something special. As for the Wii, well...
Lombardi suggested that Left 4 Dead’s Counter-Strike origins might have made it less appealing to PlayStation audiences and the publishers trying to serve them.
Lombardi also revealed that, “If Valve were to develop in-house for another format, it would be the Wii. It’s growing, there’s already a huge user-base, and it’s fun. Source is really scaleable. We can do that.Note the can do that, not a will do that. There's a glimmer of hope there for Valve titles to one day appear on the Wii.
You know what? Maybe I should support Epic a little more- they're a pretty good developer.
