A Lovely Steam Client Update Was Released

A new update was released earlier tonight for the Steam client. This update allows users to connect to multiple content servers, and introduces a number of security features.
    • Added a new chat introduction dialog which is shown when you are first contacted by a potentially unfamiliar group member

    • Added several new account security warnings to Friends

    • Added the ability for the client to connect to multiple content servers and improved download pipelining

    • Added "View Forum" option to the right click menu for individual games

    • Fixed friends going auto-away when they are really active and typing

    • Possible fix for games sometimes disappearing from the games tab

    • Fix for non-Steam games getting permanently removed from Steam if the data fails to load on startup

    • Fixed the in-game overlay becoming slow/unresponsive for some users after playing for several minutes or more

    • Fixed the in-game overlay failing to come up for Windows 2000 users

    • Improved in-game overlay compatibility with ATI Tool (video card tuning software)
If you like fixes, and I know you do, restart your Steam client to get these updates!

If steam is adding in the ability to connect to multiple content servers then they really have to start giving end users the ability to directly choose which content servers they want (without using outside proggys like tcpview).

Example: Your downloading a 5 gig game. 1gig comes down from your ISP and then other 4 gigs come from a metered content server....well cya later 4 gigs of quota.

        - This quota issue applies to probably mainly Aussies...a lot of our ISP plans have quotas which we chew through. Not sure how it is in the US/Europe

Most ISPs in America have no quotas - the only places that do are usually University campuses. I know Zips had a quota of a gig or two a week at his college, but my campus doesn't.
