  • The Shacknews Reader's Choice Awards

Following up on the Editor's Choice awards comes the Game of the Year Awards: 2007 from Shacknews. As with last time, I'll give a run down of the categories that a Valve title has won or was a runner-up in.
      Winning

    • Overall Game of the Year - Portal (20% of the vote)

    • Studio of the Year - Valve Software (43%)

    • PC Game of the Year - Portal (25%)

    • Shooter Game of the Year - Team Fortress 2 (20%)

    • Platform Game of the Year - Portal (44%)

      Runner-Up

    • Overall Game of the Year - Team Fortress 2 (14%)

    • PC Game of the Year - Team Fortress 2 (18%)

    • PS3 Game of the Year - Portal (13%)
Yep, not a bad year for Valve or the Orange Box by the looks of it.

Good for Valve for putting out a bunch of good games, they certainly made an impression on gamers.. but when it comes to non-pc gaming, why the hell would Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition make it into the top 3 Wii games for the year?

Portal was solid, I just wish it was 30 levels

Nah. ~24 "levels" was great for the main campaign. The added advanced chambers and challenge modes more than doubles that number for people that can't get enough. There's some good third party maps too.
