Finally, a list that Valve and the Orange Box top! Gamasutra released a list of the top five developers of the year, instead of the typical top games of the year. Valve tops out at number one on this list, and this is absolutely because of the Orange Box.
Sure, plenty of other developers shipped a great game this year. But, let's face it, how many of those developers shipped three great titles all in one year, while simultaneously owning and operating a major PC game distribution portal?Looking at the list, it's interesting to see that all of the developers in the top five were companies that released games - major ones - on the Xbox 360. Just an interesting little sidenote for those of you who bother with console gaming!
