The moment many of you have been waiting for has finally arrived. The official Weighted Companion Cube from Portal is now on sale from the Valve Store. The Cube measures 6 inches (15.2 cm) to a side, and retails for $29.95.

30 bucks, 6 inches, and plush so it's going to resemble a sphere more than a cube... Maybe if I was rich, but otherwise not worth it.



Come to think of it, 6 inches is a good size, keep in mind that's 6 inches cubed.

Yeah, not worth it. If it wasn't a plush, and was actually a weighted companion cube (as in it was metal and heavy enough to be a weight) them maybe $30, but then again, a 6x6 paper weight is a bit big. When will they sell full sized companion cubes? People could use them as chairs/benches/small tables, etc.

So they probably wont, but I'd go for it, even with the crazy shipping on such an Item.

Sell it for $7-10 and I'm sold. Price might be higher because this is initial release. I'll wait for it to go down before I get one (or more).

Not to mention tax and probably $10+ for shipping. I think I'll stay lonely then pay that much for companionship :-) Plus the dimensions equal out to 666 so it might try to kill me in the middle of the night.



They also have fuzzies to hang places for the same price. Geez they don't want much.

However, I do agree that the price is a bit high, and should be more along the lines of 9.99, seeing as thats about how much it costs for official plush toys at nintendoworld, and they are bigger than this.



EDIT: I guess its not too expensive for some people! Valve really did good market research, in terms of pricing, and milked it for all it was worth. They are already sold out =O

Was about to buy one then it came up and emailed me back saying they were on backorder and sold out... I'm disappointed ~_~... Because I wanted to order a couple to give as gifts, ohh well next year for them haha. Price is a bit steep also, but its still worth it if your a die hard fan of Valve stuff and got the money to waste :).
