Steam News Update - Plush Cube Time

The Plush Weighted Companion Cube makes its debut in the latest Steam news update for Friday, November 9.

Prepare for a blitz of homebrewed maps and content for Half-Life 2, Portal, and Team Fortress. This week, we updated the Source SDK with the raw elements and tools to create custom game experiences for games in The Orange Box. You'll find the SDK under the "Tools" tab within the Steam client. Watch this space for links to our favorite custom creations.



Here’s a sneak peek at the plush Weighted Companion Cube coming soon to the Valve Store. Your rear-view mirror will want a pair of companions, too.

The Plush Companion Cube is on its way, along with some Companion Cube car dice. I can't wait. I also can't wait to see some great custom Portal maps spring up from the latest series of SDK updates. I would never murder my companion cube. I merely Euthanized it, and was absolved from any guilt by an independent panel.



Anyway, looks like they sacrificed a bit of accuracy in dimensions for a softer, gentler feel you could cuddle with. Frag kinda pegged this one though, hehe. Ah well, some will like it, I'd feel like a fag if I bought it, so it's really up to you.
