Orange Box Tops Metacritic

Really, does this come as any surprise to you that the Orange Box has topped the charts at Metacritic? It does? Well, it shouldn't as that is precisely what has happened!

"By all accounts The Orange Box is exceeding everyone's expectations," said Doug Lombardi, director of marketing at Valve. "The North American launch continues this week as retailers who experienced temporary outages over the weekend are being replenished each day. Meanwhile, the first retail units are appearing in stores this week across Europe."



With reviews coming in from around the world, Orange has earned the top spot as the highest scoring PC (topping Half-Life and Half-Life 2) and 360 title of all time according to Metacritic.com.

Quite the domination there across two platforms, isn't it? We sure haven't seen something like this for about a month now with Bioshock. Let's hope the trend continues for these highly rated, multi-platform titles.

I just finished Episode 2....



Wow, just wow, it's probably the most fun I have had playing the Half-Life series since the original way back all those years ago.



It really is a masterpiece with a great story and has came on leaps and bounds from what Half-Life 2 was when it was released. They are mastering the story, the engine, the emotions, the gameplay. Its just awesome ! :)

I need to finish episode 1 still, i'm cheap and waited for the orange box to get it



I'm sure other companies (probably valve also) will try and market something similar in the future but to combine 3 new games of this quality.... the chances of that happening again seem slim.

Portal was quite an awesome game

uhm what? Steam Game Browser says different.. non of the titles in the OB has got better score than HL 1 or 2.. :S
