Proving that even hard working developers need a little down time, Valve had challenged a few teams from Shacknews to some friendly, competitive rounds of Team Fortress 2. As expected, the Valve War Machine steamrolled over their competition, but the Shacknews squads did put up a good fight (better than those from SomethingAwful apparently).
All in all, Valve members seemed impressed by the fight put up by the Shackers--though the effort was not enough to claim anything other than a moral victory. "They owned us so hard they made me sign over my power of attorney," reflected Team 1 combatant alphablu.You can actually see a good deal of screenshots from the event in the Shack event gallery. There's nothing like a little good natured competition between the developers of a game and the community that loves said game to start off your Wednesday morning.
