If it's already done, for the consoles, seems to me like it wouldn't be that hard to add it to PC's, too. These graphical updates have already been made, the only work left is in making it patch over the previous version for PC's. That can't be all that hard, so I'm betting the biggest reason is because there's no monetary incentive for them to do so or they don't want to change system requirements.
It'd essentially require multiple GIGS of download again, which is what I think they didn't want to do. Though with games the size of Bioshock being released, I don't see why they couldn't/wouldn't do it.

Though to be fair, I'd rather they worked on getting EP3 out on time... or rather, earlier than usual.

"HL2 and Episode 1 will have the engine updates added in, but only on the console versions"

Fuck man.. I wanted to get E2 boxed, just E2.. but ah well, and you guys are forgetting that both Microsoft and Sony will be releasing keyboards for both consoles, which will eventually put an end to poor slobs like myself having to buy a pc upgrade a week after upgrading it.

DX10 is a waste of time, better graphics my ass.

I've been playing EA games for a very long time, very very long time, and each game is more fucked up than the next one, it's like they release a certain game then release a patch to fix oooh saaay about 5 - 10 bugs and glitches after every few months.

Thank god for Valve for thinking with their hearts and not with their money grubbing hands.
