These pieces of information come from my buddy tonjohn who is currently partaking of the Quakecon 2007 festivities.
He managed to get a little hands-on with Left 4 Dead, and probed the developers (Turtle Rock Studios) for a few juicy pieces of information. Is your interest piqued? It should be. Read on intrepid reader, read on.

- TRS uses the latest version of the Source engine. They sync up with Valve almost every Monday to obtain the latest Source version.
- "We don't even know when the game will be released" - when asked about release date.
- Release won't be until after the Orange Box is released because TRS needs additional help/resources from Valve to finish up the game.
- They (TRS) plans to start work on additional missions/content even before the game is released in hopes to have a nice update roughly 3 months after release.
- The game will not offer 64bit support. However, "we do whatever Valve does/wants us to do" - They will gladly adopt 64bit support if Valve pushes 64bit support in their MP games.
- The game is being designed around playability on (video)cards with 256MB of ram as well as on the Xbox360. The game will go through heavy optimization before it is finally released.
