Last time I played 1.6, many years ago, there was a bug where crouched peoples heads appeared bent over when they were not, or the opposite. Was that fixed? It was quite annoying as I recall.

Yes, because bug fixes often cause things to go horribly wrong. Right.

        Does 1.6 still have bugs?
Is being able to count the polygons on the models considered a bug?

I urge you to subscribe to the HLDS mailing lists then if you don't trust what I'm saying. Just going by the facts and past results there.

I don't want you to take offense to this, but in all fairness I think we've known you long enough to know you're mostly always on Valve's side. Personally I would be very interested to see a time where you weren't on Valve's side, but there are so many posts to look through that I think I'd rather just sit here and play my Wii.

Huh? This is about what the community wants... And they want pre-release beta's to test for errors and that's what Valve is doing.

What are you even trying to go on about?

I found one! It's this bug that shows these ugly square advertising. They're also on the scoreboard!

God damn is it just me or does CS 1.6 get uglier and uglier every year?

If you haven't noticed, they stopped with gameplay updates for cs:s, dod:s & co a long time ago. According to the update news in Steam, the last noticable cs:s update was on December 11, 2006, and August 18, 2006 for dod:source.

They are only updating the engine because it's the same thing that will run under their new shiny title: team fortress two. Consider cs:s as a finished product, it will only get small fixes like 1.6 did after the release of cs:s.
CS:Source a finished product?, no way!!, were the hell are the maps?, i think 1.6 only got small fixes as they want everyone 2 move over to CS:Source, CS:Source is well short of a finished product there's still more stuff to be added, I think that maybe Valve do have something up there sleeve its just waiting for them to finally release it out to the public but im sure they have something.... Have faith people

Zips isn't always on Valve's side. He got fired from being a moderator on the Steam forums because he sided with the people flaming Valve too much. =P I think that was on the issue of ads, can't remember.

I think he gives Valve the benefit of the doubt, though, time and time again, which most of the rest of us have stopped doing due to being screwed over too much.

That's not the reason I heard.

I didn't hear a reason, I just got an impression.

You know, even I don't even know the full reason. It's really none of your business anyway.
