Steam Community Arriving in July

A major update for the Steam platform is about to be unleashed upon the world. Come July, the Steam Community will begin to roll out to all Steam users. This community will allow for users to view gameplay statistics, communicate across all Steam games, and set up their own personal page for clan or group communications.

Beginning in July, Steam users can set up their own personal Steam pages and profiles, create and join groups, schedule games with friends, review who they've played with, see how well everyone played, chat with groups, chat via voice, and more. These new community services and features can be used with all Steam games, which include new releases and classic titles from leading publishers and independent developers.

As noted, the update will begin to roll out in July. Stay tuned for more information as it is made available.

If you play any Steam game this would probably be nice. If only for the stats section.

I've started playing CS again once or twice a week now, so I think for once this is an update I might actually get some use out of. Too bad really all it'll do is remind me how shit I am now.

First update I've really looked forward to in a quite a while... hopefully this turns out to be a really cool addition.



And yes, MikeJ, I too feel the "glory days" impulse coming on from time to time, where you have to relate stories of what CS used to be like, you know... back in the day. :)

Back in the golden days, us old folks relied on WAN and techno beats, now kids these days are a bunch of hippie, pot smoking, eminem listening tards who chat with caps lock on.



Anyways, could this nifty little update makeup for the stupidly huge in-game ads? Maybe. I'm guessing they will add a "self-stats" system? Where it displays how many kills and deaths you have?
