well hey, it beats watching a commercial or animated ads. don't forget the noisy ones too. for a game that's over 6 years old... i don't really see a problem. now, if they were to add it to source or any of their newer games. i'd have a big problem there as i payed 60$+ for their newer games and like them the way they are. i still play 1.6 from time to time and i don't really see a problem with the ads as they are. i just hope they never become animated.
What not enough people take into consideration is the fact that in valve's own EULA they state that by agreeing to said EULA any and all changes made in valve's software by valve of a third party approved of by valve the end user must agree to hence forth.
Basically their EULA doesn't require a re-agreement prompt because the first time you agree to it you agree to any changes they make.
The great twist in all this is, EULA's aren't actually legally binding outside of the United States of America, Canada, and Australia. Everywhere else, they've got no ground! Hurrah!
