Shacknews Does Portal

After Shacknews went hands on with Left 4 Dead, it seems they were given the chance to get a taste of Portal.

Though it remains a mystery how much Portal will tell any kind of substantial narrative, there is at the very least some foreshadowing. Portal's early levels take place in a Combine portal user training facility, and constant use of the term "test chamber" immediately brings to mind the brief calm at the beginning of Half-Life before Gordon sets off events in a Black Mesa test chamber that initiate the entire tale of Half-Life. Odd and seemingly random distortions and silences from the narrator also vaguely suggest some kind of impending technological failure or error.

I trust there will be the line "You're wanted in the test chamber" uttered at least 20 times, if not more. I'm aching for a little Team Fortress 2 love here. Where's the CS-Nation love at?

Of the three games in the Black Box I'm interested most in Portal. Finally a FPS style puzzle game that doesn't involve killing anyone that actually looks fun.

Watching videos of Portal just makes me sick. I never thought a game could give me motion sickness.. but this one certainly succeeds in that. I might give it a try though, since I do like puzzle-type games.
