    Nightfall Media Release

The NightFall crew recently sent out a second wave of screenshots for the single player Half-Life 2 modification. The mod has you taking control of a war-torn soldier slowly losing his mind amidst a Combine invasion.
My name is John Dalton. I have been fighting in the biggest war mankind has ever seen. And that is all I know.

They tell me that my parents are dead. They tell me that they found me in a graveyard, disfigured, mutilated, and clinging to life. I should have been dead, they say.

I would have been better off dead. But they brought me here. They kept me alive. And this is why I fight.
There will be two more media updates coming up soon from the NightFall team so stay tuned.

Anyone else thinks this sound mildly like Marked One's backstory?

Another mod that looks like it was ripped right out of HL2's boring single player. I wonder if it'll utilize the cliche of intense over dramatics as well.

      man, can't wait.

I don't really try SP mods because mainly they're too short or boring. People have to give Valve some credit, yeah they took forever to release HL2, but the storyline was pretty solid.

I am indiscriminate and cheap, so I welcome any and all free SP mods no matter how cliché or generally played-out their storylines may be.

It's like those free school lunches for the poor kids over summer break. Sure, the food sucks, but hell -- free food is still free food, so I'm not gonna complain.

Worst case scenario it's a mildly entertaining diversion for a few hours that you otherwise would have spent arguing online with some random guy from Kazakhstan about whether the PS3 was or was not a smart move on Sony's part.

I'm always impressed with how good the graphics are in the mod scene compared to how shitty the graphics are in the indie scene. It looks good and I always like trying out single player mods. I don't have to learn the ins and outs of online play.
