I've recently added in two new categories here at CS-Nation. The first new category is other Source games, and the second is mod news.
The purpose of "other Source games" is to separate Source powered games that are going to be full fledged retail games that aren't Counter-Strike: Source, or Half-Life 2 (HL2, the Episodes, TF2) related. We already have categories for those. Game news that will appear under "other Source games" from hereon out will include games such as Left 4 Dead, Dark Messiah, The Crossing, Natural Selection 2, and others.
The purpose of "mod news" is just that, to start adding in news about third party mods here. I went with just "mod news" instead of "Source mod news" to try and not limit the scope, though I don't see there being too much life left in the original Half-Life's mod scene. So, if you have news about a cool mod that was just updated or is set for release, make sure to submit some news about it! More than likely I'll give credit where credit is due and include your name in the news post. Both of these new categories can be filtered in your user options if you so choose.
Additionally, feel free to submit news about Counter-Strike or CS: Source custom maps here. If the map is unique enough it'll probably find a spot in a news post here. Things like cs_genericKniveScoutkillboxfest probably won't get their own separate news post. They might show up in a "map-bits" type of post where it's grouped with similar maps. I'm not sure if we can host maps download mirrors here, but I'll check into this. Though, this all really depends on how many news submissions or tips we get about new custom maps. So get crackin'!
If anybody has any suggestions for additional categories or changes here, feel free to suggest them in the comments section.
