    No-ads Ad Disabling Method Disabled

The latest HL1 engine update from Valve renders a good deal of the CS1.6 ad disablers useless.
      Half-Life 1 Engine

    • Fixed loading outdated client dlls
This was in response to a method that allowed some industrious users to remove the newly placed ads in Counter-Strike 1.6.

1.6 should be free to the public after this bullshit. if they put this in source i'm moving to 3rd party exclusively

All you have to do is extract the map, rename it (de_dust2_adfree for instance), upload it to your server, and bam. Ad free dust2.

And yes I hope Valve spends a lifetime making the ad system foolproof, but without ever succeeding.

I'm so, so, sorry I spent $30 back then for the full Half-Life package, just so Valve could spike my games with ad revenue for even more money.

Just because CS 1.6 has more players than Source on a daily basis, doesn't mean then should hack it with a saw so more people go Source.

Quite frankly I'd rather get into a different game from a different company altogether. If ads go into Source... Call of Duty 2 here I come!

Wow. Imagine if they'd respond that quickly to things the game needs and things players actually want. What a bunch of cunts.

Jesus christ, imagine if they would update CS:Source that often for things that people say it really needs. Funny, how quickly they can patch cs when it's related to their profits.
