Ads Now In CS1.6

Its been fucking me up too. Almost thought the game would just outright crash at one point. Its worse if you have any bots around. The ads just plain look awful and on top of that they rotate just like those electronic billboards you see near the road. And no you cant even spray on them, bastards.



The ads are hardly even placed where you can see them, which is a good thing. And its also laughable. Just check out de_dust. Well one things for sure. If Valve cant stop the mirad of cheats that get in their games, then theres no way they will stop someone from breaking their ad system down as well. Stick tight folks cause those no ad hacks are right around the corner.



If theres already one out now I wont be surprised anyway. Oh and I highly doubt anyone gives a crap about Core2 Duo processors while they're playing dust 2. In any case I still think this is just a ploy to "force us to source" and its not going to work. Source is nowhere near the great game that 1.6 is, so what sane person would let themselves be forced to pay money for a game of LESSER quality?

Just stating for the record, they are on regular de_dust as well.



In my opinion, the wall-ads aren't even all that bad. The ads on the scoreboard (as well as the spectator view) however are INHERENTLY annoying.



Also it's seemed to make me lag a bit, not visible lag (as in something that shows up in my latency) just every now and then it makes things a bit choppy.



I would theorize that the ads will only be on de_ maps, as those are the ones used for scrims, where many people are playing and, more importantly, watching. And even if they do head to cs_ maps, they'll likely never appear on custom maps, as they'd have no way to specifically place them on walls and such.
