Steampowered forums sounds like an awful place to submit suggestions.
They should make you pay $1-5 per suggestion to weed out all of the stupid suggestions that clearly have massive flaws. Valve doesn't have time to look at 20 posts a day on suggestions (that have most likely been repeated).

The point is, there will be less suggestions, and only long thought-out suggestions are likely to be submitted; not "LOL BAN AWP NOEW."
Like signing up for CS-Nationlist, Rizzuh would probably take a CS-Nationlists suggestions over some random guy throwing them out at him, because they give him pizza money.Comment

I was going through my autoexec, and saw cl_downloadfilter "nosounds".
Now there was a useful update. No more having to wait to download these useless annoying sounds to download to hear everytime someone got 4 kills in a row without dying, or getting a headshot.Comment

Having read the debate transcript, I really can't find the part about where they try and get the importance of the current situation of CS:S over to Valve.....
And Valve don't even want to speak about the issue, they are content to let a game which had so much potential fall to the dogs....Comment

Doesn't a debate usually have opposing arguments? Rather than a somewhat agreeable discussion between like-minded people?
I thought there was a modicum of ignorance. No worthwhile competition has ever used Dynamic Pricing, and yet it's touted as one reason why 1.6 and Source are so different.Comment

Couldn't you have just typed cl_allowdownload 0 and reconnected?

I'm always surprised that more folks don't bring up the major, major difference between 1.6 and source; you can't shoot through walls!
One of the main reasons I have pretty much dropped 1.6 is because getting awped through every piece of masonry/wall/furniture on a map gets pretty dull after a while. I understand that learning every inch of a map to the point of godliness can win matches, but playing against a player who doesn't even have to see you, just guess that you're there and click Mouse1 isn't much fun on publics...
Source does still have it's problems, probably more than 1.6 has, but I find it fun to play against people who haven't been playing the game 10 hours a day for the past 7 years. That's my own problem I know, but at least it means source stays fresh for me :)Comment
