Onslaught mod for CS:S

Can't wait for TF2? Good news, a new Metamod:Source plug-in from the ever industrious L. Duke has just been released. Perhaps better described by the man himself as:

DOD:S style capture point game play with player classes, HL2 models/sounds, and a small pinch of Source Forts.

Play as Soldier, Sniper, Scout, Heavy or Engineer, with an array of items & gadgets from trip mines to barricades:







Having played it for a couple hours I can honestly say it's a blast. This is a fantastic mod that goes a step beyond just scripting (i.e. GunGame) to truly provide a new gaming experience in the CS:S world. It has only just launched so you'll only find it on a handful of servers for now, but hopefully as word gets out more will appear rapidly! To that end, server admins should point their browsers here for installation and setup instructions.

Rather than add another of my endless run-on sentences to the news post, I'll note here that I got an update from L. Duke, noting that the next release will include a Linux version, bug fixes, and config files for all stock maps. :)

I love SourceForts. This plugin isn't really anything like it though. The barricades disappear when the owner dies and you only get three. The game play is very much different than SF.



Gameplay is more like DOD if each player class had special skills and items (such as adrenaline packs, jump pads, tripmines, etc).

Onslaught mode is from UT2k4 isn't it? Just because there are barriers doesn't mean it represents anything like SourceForts..
