Guest Pass Beta Coming Soon

Guest pass inclusion in the Steam system was hinted at a short while back. Coming later this week, a BETA system for the guest passes will begin.

Later this week, new menu options will appear within Steam as Valve initiates the closed beta for Guest Passes, a new feature that will allow owners of certain Steam-enabled games (purchased either via Steam or at retail) to send a friend limited-time trials for those games.



During the beta period the new menu items will appear on all Steam accounts, though the ability to send the Guest Pass will be inactive. When this closed beta concludes, Valve will extend the Steam Guest Pass Beta to Day of Defeat: Source owners.

They will test if the new menu option does use 100% CPU like every other steam dialog box does, and when they'll have a dream about that it is working as intended we'll get free come&cheat tickets to give away!

Uh, the passes will only be allowable from persons in good VAC standing that own the game. That cheat thing? Probably not likely to happen as much as people believe.

It will be much, much worse.

considering you proberlly get 5 passes per game, each lasting 1 month validity till self-expire, and 48-72h on recieval of a pass



the amount of cheats detected will increase if people just use it to test/run cheats
