OMG valve sucks cs sucks... omg I play 12 hours a day and spam the forums, whien bitch and moan... If the game is so bad why do you play? Try some constructive criticism... If valve/cs mod team did not keep updating and changing the game it would have died years ago.

Here goes Valve again, screwing up a perfectly fine game. The gameplay/gun balance was fine. How about they fix the thousands of bugs in the game instead of wasting time on this crap.

Look at the state of cs:s, filled with retarded ass bugs.
Well, 1.6 (and many other HL1 mods) are filled with bugs mostly due to limitations in the engine. Hell the original HL1 engine was nothing more than a modification of the Quake 1 Engine (last I checked). And they are updating 1.6 again, they do actually listen, but they actually have a quality control department which rates what are the most pressing issues. And, since CS: S is a representation of their source engine, from a marketing standpoint, it gets the front-line. The pistol damage increase is well welcomed in my opinion, I always loved my P228+UMP combo, now I love it more.

1.6 the shield is shit, we know, you can spam through so many walls, grenade explosions go through areas where they shouldn't, weapon throwing is total bull, hit boxes are still very...well unreliable (in both versions). But apart from some balances in the weapons (accuracy wise), and the "anti-bunny hop (which doesn't always work). 1.6 isn't all that different from the 1.0 that I started with. And, in just about every HL1 engine game/mod I can think of, if there's more than 1 player, and a thin cieling or overhang, you can boost THROUGH it as an exploit (always fun surprising those T's in spawn in italy)

CS: Source, well, that was technically their first public demo of the source engine, if you had Condition Zero you got to play the CS: Source beta. And if you didn't play that, you would cry at all the bugs, it's come a LONG way since then, and they are actually working on it more and more.

I remember the "on-top-of-map" boost, as well as the boost launching, that was kinda fun, but got really annoying, that's (for the most part) fixed, you can still get a slight boost launch, but not as much as you use to. Hit boxes and net code were screwy (still are somewhat), but running on a 100 tick server and clients running the proper rates for their systems/connection/location in relation to server fixes that most of the time. There was a flash bang exploit that made a secondary flash cancel out the first, that's fixed.

Now if you want to get into public servers I can give you a list of possible things causing problems in those (most of them involving plugins, and how they run), that most of the time have nothing to do with how the game itself was made or developed.

There is a long long long list of bugs and bug fixes out there. But people forget them within 5 minutes of the release because most of the time they THINK they see something else that was changed (when it hasn't)

Hell I remember when they tried radius transmitted voice chat, where if an enemy was within a certain range you could hear their voice chat, that didn't work out too well because it glitched like crazy and you could sometimes hear them from way in their spawn. It didn't go over well, so they ditched it.

The shield was mentioned in previous conversations, well, yes the shield is NOT in CS: Source. Why? Because it wasn't popular enough to warrant it's recreation. However, WHY wasn't it popular? Well, mostly because it created a heavy imbalance, if they made it so some weapons could shoot through that "window" that "hitbox" was too unpredictable and totally screwwed up, if they made it completely invulnerable if you have an organized enough team we'll see the comeback of a roman phalanx, it's not so much that it COULDN'T work, it's that it DIDN'T work.

There is so much more I could rant on, and i know I'm gonna get chewed out because people will claim I'm just a "valve sympathizer" or whatever, honestly no, there are some things I didn't like, but honestly, most of the changes they've done, I HAVE liked, I even like the CONCEPT of DWP (for public servers), though it just didn't work quite right, it's a simple way to enforce the purchase of lesser used weapons (like the UMP), also a valuable research tool (as we've seen) because valve has used it's information to improve on the lesser pistols. However the price "gouging" I guess you could call it. Makes it less than desirable for most servers.

I could probably keep going and going and going, but I'm tired, I'm going to sleep. Look up the change logs since the beginning, and look up some really old info for CS (in general), you can find most of it on this very site, you'll find some interesting information about how much this game has really been fixed up since it's beginning, and it's come a really long way.

Well gee, they have been fine for years but now they need fixing?

                I will fucking bet.

The dualies can't be as powerful as they are, they already have fully automatic capabilities..

The p228 was ALREADY powerful, it has some accuracy issues is why people don't use it, did not need to be beefed up.

The 5-7 has a large clip, fires fast and barely any recoil.. now it has a 25% increase in damage when it HAD 2 unique features already.

The glock can fire three bullets at a time, has good accuracy.

The usp has good power and accuracy AND a silencer.

The deagle is very powerful, but with a few downfalls : Low accuracy and small clip.

I can see the 5-7 being a deadly force now, easily a gun I would pick over any other pistol.

So what has this changed? ..now people move onto the new best gun.

                Solving nothing.

Cynical to say the least and full of contradictions. The buff up to 5-7, 5-7 and elites had rapid fire. So what? does that stop the guy with deagle to 2-3 shot someone to death? No.. these "unique" features aren't much of features when they're just novelty.

Anyways I'm still sticking to my glock for CQC and deagle/usp long range. People are not going to just magically move away from the deagle, it's still an incredibly powerful weapon and is STILL the most powerful pistol rated on single shots.

That is my point entirely, people are STILL going to use what they want to use.

That is why the deagle shot up to 23K.

so exactly what was the point of making these changes when so many other problems exist?

Deagle has 7 bullets, and the other two have 13 and 20 I think. Either way, it's alot more than the Deagle.

After playing a few scrims tonight, there really isn't much reason to buy the Deagle anymore. The 20 bullet one (I honestly do not know the names cause they were so horrible before) is an absolute damage beast, and it's pretty accuate.

Fine, try to balance out the pistols (and kinda fail), whatever. But why not other things first? Why not fix the physics objects? Clipping bugs? Hitboxes? Defuse bug(s)? Shadow bugs? Radar bugs? 100ms crouch delay? Scrap DWP? There's just a ton of more pressing issues.
