I hope this comes to 1.6 too. After taking their ads, we deserve this at least
Yeah right they finally found something exclusive to source that's pretty good!

also if they should go into realism they should fix the power and abilities of all of the other weapons.

The P90 is severely underpowered compared to it's counter-parts.

Uh we shouldn't be talking realism when it comes to Counter-Strike anyway. Last time I checked, the game is far from realistic.
Counter-strike is not that far from realistic, it pretty much sits on the border, there are allot of realistic principles in CS. It is far from a simulation, but everything is based off a realistic concept.

Isn't the idea of the game to be realistic? A Desert Eagle .50 is a powerful rhino stopper. You can't just make the other guns more powerful because people use the more powerful gun... I'm sorry but they're screwing up the game even more then they already had. CS:S is a mess.

There was mention of CS 1.6 being updated in the post though. A mistake by the looks thanks god!
Deagle needs to have its recoil beef up so that u can't line up the second or third shot easily as if it was a glock, thats what it needs. With the current recoil, the Deagle is the most overpowered pistol in the gamez0rz.

At least Valve is actually doing something right by beefing up the pistol damages.

No matter what price the deagle is marked at, people will continue to buy it. =P

ok, please re-iterate what part of changing an integer that defines how much damage 3 weapons does qualifies as an update. No doubt this will take approx 2 weeks+ to actually roll out, and once again the important aspects of the game that need fixed are left to rot. Well, sounds like the usual tat.......

could be good I guess as long as they dont fuck with the deagal and dont stuff up more things while they "fix" these guns.

That being said they could be fixing real problems before fixing things that dont need to be fixed.

oh btw fix the fucking shotguns and random long range guns

I just want to quote myself from a different post:
The best way to figure out what Valve is going to do is to take what you and many people think would make sense... and do the exact opposite. So, to me and most people, it seems like the pistols are fine, yet Valve is going to change them up. Formula works well so far!

Most of us would say that major bugs should be fixed before adding stuff no one asked for, but Valve completely disagrees. Instead of fixing stuff, they added the radar, which no one asked for, and made a bunch of new bugs in the process. Yay! Promotions all around!

What will probably happen is the deagle will be nerfed, and the Five-seven and Compact given a boost, even though they already have a crazy system (DWP) in place to deal with balancing.. sort of.
                  Guess I was pretty close.

The USP is pretty good, the Glock isn't bad at all for pistol rounds, and the Deagle is good. Who cares if we have 3 other pistols that suck? You're simply not going to have 6 pistols that are all equally useful when the gameplay of CS is pretty shallow.

Because it takes some decent time to correctly balance all the weapons and projectile weighting/speeds/piercing physics/standard damage/effect on the entire game/ and CT/T default weapon balancing/ And considering they're working on a million other things located in a small office in seatle.

I think other people's worlds revolve around stuff other than just CS.

Because they could add variety to the pistols, i.e. giving the glock a firerate rivaling the DOD pistols. Giving the 5-7 actual piercing abilities.

bad bad bad. you underestimate the CSS script kiddies. if the glock had a 'fast as you can click' firing rate, it'd be MINUTES before someone had a 'machinegun glock' script ready. I do agree with the 5-7 shooting through thin walls though.

cs:s scripting has no known exploit to do that.

Because the potential for it doesn't exist yet. He's talking about scripts being made to do that IF you could fire the Glock as fast as you could click it.

In other words, if the gun fired as fast as the game could read "+attack", you could do some serious damage with a script. Try a speedhack out sometime, and see how fast your weapons fire. You can unload an entire 30 round rifle clip in less than half a second, easy.

                            How does that change anything?

cs:s has nothing like the special loop from 1.6 to do that.

If someone found a way, I am sure they could patch it easily anyhow.

Were you here when the glock WAS like how he was talking?

You could fire as fast as you could click, they did it once and I would think they would never do it again from the horribleness of it.

well... it seems nice to hear that the less used pistols are gonna be better and have a use... personaly i like the 228 and 5-7 but lets see that they do and argue if it was good or bad when it happens...after all we aint gonna stop it.

The guns are perfectly fine, anyone who can aim can do well with any gun, especially in public games.
