    Garry's Mod Coming to Steam

Everyone's favorite sandbox title, Garry's Mod, is headed to Steam. Why linger around on version 9, when Steam's version 10 offers up plenty of brand-new ways to create hilarious POTD's for CS-Nation!
"The new version has been created from scratch so almost everything has been revised and re-invented," said Garry Newman, creator of Garry's MOD. "It has a bunch of new tools to play with (winches, hydraulics and hoverballs), totally new spawn menu and a few new Post Processing effects to play with. The great thing about Steam is that I can update really regularly, really easily - which is something I plan on doing - so expect more tools/gamemodes/stuff to come."
If you already own CS: Source, GMod 10 will sell for $9.95. If you do not currently own CS: Source, there will be a bundle deal available for $24.95 that includes GMod 10 and CS: Source. Garry's Mod will be made available on November 29th.

Actually, I was going to compliment him on finding a way to make money off it. That's actually a reasonable amount, too...if it hadn't already been free. Although, I think 5 bucks would be even more reasonable.

I'm all for good quality software from hardworking people like Gary costing a bit of money...but not too much. Basically, anything more than free, and you're getting a profit off it.

Then that makes it...."Garry's STANDALONE," not Garry's MOD. Right?

Garry has put a hell of a lot of work into his mod and deserves some financial bonus. I think he has exceeded what people see as a mod, and certainly he's been the only modder to think outside the box in a long while.

This is what Steam was made for !

For the little guys to make something and distribute their content, not only for big companies, and this just goes to show that if you put enough time, effort and passion into your work, it will pay off...

You forgot to mention you have to actually be good at it, too.

Seeing some of the popcap games over Steam, that was debatable

But yeah, it helps if you know what you are doing

I'd be interested to see the laughable statistics of Popcap games purchases.

I like the banning technique that Garry uses on his forums, the 72 font "lol banned, let's notify the whole world", which is very similar to..

                      CSNation a few years ago?

                      Rizzuh should have patented it.

No, you need to have HL2 or CS:S installed.

garry's mod is fun enough, for $10 I'd probobly buy it. I hear they added a TON of new stuff to it that might make it worth the money. $10 is like one lunch at taco bell. I'll likely survive this crushing blow to my finances.
