    Race on Steam

Steam feels the need, the need for speed! Sorry, that particular game isn't appearing on Steam, but another racing game is. The game, RACE (the official game of the WTCC), is speeding onto Steam come November 24th.
SimBin and Valve today announced an agreement to deliver RACE - The Official WTCC Game to consumers around the world via Steam. In addition, all retail copies of RACE sold for the PC in the EMEA territories will include Steam functionality for auto-updating, matchmaking, and anti-piracy encryption.

From acclaimed Swedish developers SimBin, RACE - The Official WTCC Game is due for release worldwide via Steam and at retail in EMEA territories on November 24th, 2006, and the first title to deliver the intense action of the WTCC championship to PC gamers.
The game will feature over 60 realistically modeled cars, all drivers, cars, and locations from the 2006 WTCC season, and support for both single-player and multi-player games (supporting upwards of 26 players).

Direct delivery of this game via Steam is available only to customers in North and South America.

For Medieval 2, with Paypal support enabled on the command line....

How long are they gonna exclude Europeans from steam... Not everyone wants a Visa or Mastercard over here.

Jesus........ What is the point in implementing something like this if you are gonna ignore a huge majority of the market that would use it given the means to..........

I rest my case. GG once again Valve. What does it take for a company to sit down and consider these posibilities in this day and age?

You're blaming a problem with the PayPal service on Valve? Try again. This is an issue with PayPal itself that sprung up shortly after the Valve beta went live. That has NOTHING to do with Valve in the slightest.

                No.

That has something to do with Sega. Valve doesn't have any control over that if it's Sega's wishes (or whatever it is of theirs) that says they cannot sell the game outside of the Americas.

Hmmmmm - Now I'm really curious as to why they wouldn't want the game distributed to Europe over Steam.......

Something to do with 'piracy laws' perhaps, especially in Sweden.

I can't really see a reasonable explanation however...

I think its hilarious when I imagine this game would appeal to more Europeans.
