Weekly Steam News Update - November 10

For some reason, I no longer get these Steam news updates on Friday. I received last week's on the following Monday, and this week's news update I had to be linked to on the Steam forums. Being late is better than never showing at all, right?

This week on Steam we had the debut of the Unreal 3 powered Roboblitz, a humorous game where you play as a robot (named Blitz) who has to use a number of gadgets and gizmos to get a Space Cannon up and running. We've also seen significant updates to both Dark Messiah and X3 Reunion released.



A new item has been added to the Valve merchandise store for fans of our beloved robot D0G. For about 10 dollars you can get a 28.5" x 16" poster of him squaring off against a Strider in Episode Two. Click here to check it out.

We'll be showing off what the retail box will be looking like on MTV's gaming show G-Hole next Wednesday the 15th at 8:00 p.m. This will include three short videos from Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, and Portal.

New media, you say? Unveiling of the box art and new videos for Episode Two, TF2, and Portal? I'm not sure our appetites can afford to be any more whet, especially given the extended release delay, but bring on the new videos (hopefully in hi-resolution glory via Steam).

I for one don't mind the delay, it'll give me more time to build a good rig.

Plus Crysis and UT07 won't be out until then anyways.

Looking at that store though, the other dog poster is actually really cool. What happened to the other posters? Weren't there like some cool ones with concept art for HL2? Meh, I need to buy Raising the Bar still. I have that HL2 DM shirt and that print they first had up a while ago of the citadel(I think that's what it's called?). Man, I need to rebeat that game, I said I would do it once I got my 1080p lcd and I stopped when Company of Heroes came out.

The only print I like is the Day of Defeat one. I'm be too self-conscious of what my suite-mates would think of it/me to order it though.

You can get the same poster at Walmart for $4, you money dwelling whores, and Valve should not announce date releases for games anymore.

So instead of purchasing, uh, video game posters for $10, you could pay a mere $5 more and buy RoboBlitz.
