Wow ! this is the best change to hit the game ever !!!!!

    (not. it's pish.)

Disabled ftw.... Maybe next time they will spend their time doing something constructive with the game instead of making it the laughing stock of pro gamers across the globe.....

If a team is so anally crap that they have to rely on people getting X weapon at X time, then they're clearly not good enough to actually get anywhere anyway. A good team can adapt and think on the fly.
CLEARLY you have no clue how upper tier competitive teams work..

Teams form strats on all three nades and GOOD rifles, and if you can't afford a certain gun the way your practiced the week before, the entire thing of going over nade timings goes to shit.

You can't frag with mp5 or mac10 consistently better while the other team can afford an m4 or ak because people did or did not buy it the previous 7 days.

I know most of you have no idea how much practice and timing it takes to win on a big level, but you really really need to not speak on things you don't care about or understand.

And by practice I don't mean playing 10 hours a day, I mean 1v5 bomb site holding, going over spots, knowing how to retake a bombsite with nades 2v5 every time... won't go over too well when you can either save an extra round and lose it, or buy a p90 and lose it still, because the other team now has momentum from winning a round while gaining money, so even if by luck they lose to the bad guns.. they will force the other team to upgrade or try to luck out again with the bad guns.

Yea, I decided to screw around on a surf map, since no one on my team could scrim or anything, and the first thing I encounter after a few rounds of DEing a kiddie in the face, he screams at me about how he's ranked 15/4000, and that I suck.

Cool. Can you show me which CAL-m team you're on so I can take you seriously?

I just can't help but laugh. I can grasp from your continual rants that you all spend a loong time working out tactics on maps, but come on! I really believe that any true pro to the game will be able to spawn on any given map, see what he/she has to work with, and still manage to kick butt, even if it means taking on a team packing AKs with just an MP5 and no grenades. I sure as hell am not saying that I'm one of these pros - I don't really give a flying flipper as to my rank or my kill:death ratio. I am aware that I have no grounds in telling compeditive gamers how to play; I'm merely stating that in my mind, the better player will be the one that can maintain a continuously changing strategy and still come out on top.

                  PLAY 1.6.

You are a joke as a competitive player if you play source seriously in the first place, leave it to everyone else. Every time I see someone bitch about source and competitive play, I can't help but laugh. Especially people like dark angel.

The thing that bothers me..is on the servers I have been playing on...you can not buy ammo for you pistols. Nor can you buy ammo for the mp5. It seems that even AFTER you say survive a round, and need ammo you can't buy it. This has happened to me all day today.

No matter where I go, you can never get more than 70 shots total for the mp5 (30 in the clip, 40 in the pocket) when it used to be 150 shots. Talk about suck.

I played 1.3-1.6 competitively for years, on multiple Main teams. I went to numerous LAN tournaments in Southern California, and even won a few. I like Source much better, and the community is far less irritating.

Someone on the CAL forums posted this fix for the buying, you need an account to even read it so I'll just quote him:
                      http://files.filefront.com/

                      resourcer.../fileinfo.html

un-rar that file and you should get a resource folder. now browse your steam account to

                      D:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\<yourname>\count

                      er-strike source

you should see a cstrike folder. drag this resource folder INTO the cstrike folder.

now ingame, at the buy menu, when you press 8, it should take you to equipment! (noteressing 6 at that menu now does nothing)

Is there a way to get a similar fix so I can press 5, 5, instead of 5, 6, to join a team?

                          wtf are you talking about?

I guess you can pretty much do whatever you want to the menus in CS:S. I don't know how personally, but I assume it's possible.

In CS 1.6. You join a server, team selection pops up, you press 5, 5, to pick a random team and a random skin on that team.

In source, you have to press 5, 6. It's mildly annoying. And slower.

Well ive played cs since 2000 and i really like this change if it was mandatory i'd be kickin up a fuss but it's a case of don't like it don't play it

ive played in about 10 clans over the last 6 years and run a few, competativly it won't work the communities are too stubborn to accept change thats the way it is and the way it always will be. Some of the post above are right it can royally screw your tactics if you can't afford what you normally could but the way we always planned for a match before was we'd have backup plans in case things when wrong and we couldn't afford a gun, this update does make the backup plans more frequent but if you have a good team that can adapt on the fly then it shouldn't bother you i played a 5 V 5 practice match on the DPS and we still won in the way we normally did the chages in price arn't that extreme (as of yet) if they ran league with this feature on i'd cetrainly think about joining it,

the way i see it in pubs it's great there seems to be alot more variety in guns used i rarely saw the UMP, MAC-10, galil in use but now this has kicked in people are starting to adjust accordingly and thats good because week by week your not always playing the same game

good addition vavle (but fix some god dam bugs and give us some god dam maps)
