  • CPL - Date Changes for 2006 Championship Finals

Due to a number of scheduling conflicts with the Hyatt Regency hotel and participants having to take final exams, the CPL has decided to reschedule the dates for the 2006 Championship Finals.
After meeting with the management of the Hyatt, the CPL has became aware that the CPL block of rooms is in fact full and that the entire hotel is also full because of a second large group the Hyatt booked during the CPL event.

Due to the overwhelming interest in the CPL Championship Finals and after discussions with its primary sponsors, the CPL has decided to move the dates of the event forward by a few days and block the rooms for the entire hotel.

Therefore, the CPL 2006 Championship Finals will now take place from Saturday, December 16 to Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Dallas.
Additionally, the Hyatt will be lowering their rates for the event to $75 per room per night, down from $89 per night. Those still wishing to observe all of the action are also in luck as AMD and ATI are offering 500 more spectator passes to go with the previous 1,000 already given away. You can read more information at the CPL's website.

Hopefully the CPL will pick up CS:S as atleast an official, non-BYOC tournament sometime soon. Main event would be awesome though.

Why? Dont you bitch constantly in the comments about how they are ruining it? CS 1.6 is still better.

Update: Attendees that made air travel reservations using the CPL American Airlines discount code will not be charged a fee to make date changes to their itinerary.

I do complain about changes they make, but that's not the fault of the CPL, and I still feel Source is superior. But you can continue to be a 1.6 fanboy and whine about Source any chance you get.

Angel, are there any plans to bring CS:S back to CPL?
