It's the end of the week, and you know what that means. That's right, it's time for another weekly news update from Valve.
I have a feeling some of the upcoming Episode 2 gameplay videos will be hi-res versions of the the extended Leipzig Game Con movies. You remember those, right? CS-Nation will host the videos as well. Hopefully I'll get them up a lot earlier than mere minutes before they are released on Steam.
On Wednesday, in addition to a Counter-Strike: Source release, there was a Steam client release that was primarily focused on Friends. We also added 17 of PopCap's most popular games. Clearly, this was one of the busier Wednesdays we've had in a long time.Just seems like a little recap of the week's events. No new news about the economy changes being planned for CS: Source. No news about the Portal footage that was shown at Leipzig. I was sort of expecting there to be see the footage from it released today, but oh well.
Each Popcap game is available for a free one hour trial, so you can check out the game before you buy. If you have never sampled any of these games, we strongly suggest you take a short break from playing Counter-Strike and try a couple of them.
We have also released new movies for Episode Two and Team Fortress 2, both of which were shown at the Leipzig Games Conference. Next week we will release a series of Episode Two gameplay footage movies. The movies will be available at most gaming sites as well as through Steam.
Finally, we want to congratulate Micah Ernst for winning the Verizon FIOS Half-Life 2: Deathmatch tournament! Micah took home $100,000 for first place. You can read more about it in this article.
