Defcon Headed to Steam in September

The latest offering from the Introversion crew, the team that made Darwinia, is almost upon us. DEFCON is the latest game from Introversion and it will find its way onto Steam in the month of September.
"As evidenced by the success of Darwinia, Steam is an excellent outlet for independent developers, such as Introversion, who are breaking new ground with the industry's pioneering titles," said Gabe Newell, co-founder and president of Valve. "With over 10 million registered users, the library of games offered via Steam continues to expand with games from all genres."

DEFCON is an online, competitive, multiplayer strategy game based around the theme of global thermonuclear war. The player assumes the role of a General hidden deep within an underground bunker, his mission being to successfully exterminate the enemy's civilian population whilst simultaneously disabling the enemy's ability to retaliate.
Introversion's first game, Uplink, is now also available for immediate purchase via Steam for only $10.

I'll wait to see some screenshots of DEFCON, but I wasn't too thrilled with Darwinia..

If you didn't enjoy Darwinia I'm guessing you wouldn't enjoy DEFCON. I liked Darwinia, though I never finished it (I guess I should), and DEFCON looks sweet. Check out the videos.

Uplink I've never heard about and I'm not interested in.

good to see independent devs getting more games out on steam, hell the same price of all those "budget games" but allot more quality in design. Even if your not a fan of darwinia you can sure see that it isn't a waste of money like most inexpensive games.

Uplink is an amazing game and for $10 you bet I'm buying it. I still however need to buy a boxed version at some point.
