Still no love for CS:S? Maybe when CS2 comes out everyone will switch then.

Not to get off topic but what do you think CS2 would be if there were to be one..?

I think if they did cs2 it would have to be different then 1.6 & source. Just because every suggestion i see for a sequel is just changing a few things about 1.6 or source (which turns out to be mostly bug fixes). I think a true sequel would have to be the same feel but a whole different experience, changing content, adding more game types but keeping those core elements in tact (sorta like the GTA series has evolved but has kept it's core gameplay the same).

Something like squad-based commanding would be nice..More objectives to accomplish. And not CTF. There are too many CTF games as it is.

CS2 should soley be done by Gooseman/Minh Le. Just like the original, it should be a user created mod which has beta stages then I suppose Valve could eventually help out.

But for there to be a true CS2 it would have to be Gooseman working on it alone with maybe Cliffe helping out, just like before with CS1.

I wonder what Gooseman is up to these days... He has no online presence, no online website/blog or anything. Even looking on the Valve employees page, Cliff is there but not Minh Le. Maybe the popularity of CS was a bit much for him and he didn't want the fame, heh I don't blame him really.

But yeah, I wonder what the guy is up to, perhaps working on a new mod/project? Who knows. Or maybe just occupied with the normal things in life, as I remember Goose saying working on CS for him was simply a hobby.

What does how it starts and who works on it have to do with making a true sequel?

                Haha, almost everything.

The original developer is the key. Without him, there would be none of this CS, and when it's made by someone else it's simply a copy, a remake of someone trying to cash in on the CS name.

                Goosman, where are you buddy!

CS2 having mod quality would suck, i can't believe you wouldn't trust valve to do this, pretty much every game project they work on has been great (although all the delays are not).

That and you could feel the love for CS. There were tons of updates most of the time it came with a new map. You could tell that he wanted the best game out there. I wish we could go back to those days and I could do it all over again. So much fun!

After valvE bought it, I was so ready for the NEXT thing. CS:S came out and was like ok here we go..After so many bugs. People said just give it time. It will get there. Well after 2 years. I don't see that love anymore.

yea cause cs was soo bug free, I think CS got better when valve took over and started updating it.

This is just not true. Sure, without the original developers, we wouldn't have CS, but the original developers aren't necessary to make a sequel as long as the core elements of the original are kept in tact, which would make it a sequel.
