    ATI Title Sponsor for CPL

The CPL just keeps rolling right along with these sponsorships. The latest addition as a title sponsor is none other than the widely known GPU designer, ATI Technologies.
ATI will provide title sponsorship for all CPL's worldwide computer games tournaments and will be a primary sponsor of the CPL Winter 2006 Championships, taking place December 13-17, 2006 in Dallas, Texas. The sponsorship demonstrates ATI’s long-standing commitment to support the computer gaming community.

“We are very excited that ATI has joined us as a lead sponsor, said Angel Munoz, Founder and President of the CPL. “ATI’s support will assist us in expanding our league’s presence at a global scale, and we’re thrilled that they have selected us to showcase their newest cutting-edge graphics technologies.
It only seems natural that the next course of action for the CPL would be to take over the world. Just you wait and see, it'll happen!

lol - I am more inclined that after 8 comments the argument will go from which video card drivers to which drivers are better.

But uhhh .... Zips .... are you getting old or something and forgetful in your old age? You already posted this in April - lol

I hope this means next year cpl will be back to form. Wasn't this year's problems rumored to be because of something like nvidia and intel wanted to cut back on how much money they provided and cpl wanted more(and wsvg is giving smaller prize purses so they hopped to that)? Either way, this is really good news for cpl. I like the CPL because angel seems to like pc gaming or something.

Trust me, I thought the same thing as well before I posted this. I made sure it was new (I don't think Angel would lead me astray).

I plan on going to this years summer event which is some how being taken over by crappy WSVG and it better be damn good or I am done with CPL events. Seeing how WSVG seems to be console oriented I don't know how good it can be.

Hi everyone. I have a few answers:

                      1. The ATI press release is new :) AMD was announced before.

                      2. We did not have money conflicts with Intel and NVIDIA. That rumor is 100% false. In fact the WSVG sponsorship $$ was probably much higher than CPL's sponsorship. We just wanted to do things our way this year and we found companies that agreed with our vision for esports. :)

                      3. We are announcing our CPL-managed Winter Event soon. There's a hint of that on this page at the CPL - http://www.thecpl.com/events/

I wish ati would stop wasting money on sponsorships and spend more money improving their technology.
