Zips, I respect you, and I thought you were a credible source of information. If you are going to sit there and tell me you haven't seen a cheater on Source in months, either you don't play source much, or you are flat out lying. I don't know how stupid you think the readers CS-Nation are, but it is obvious to anyone with half a brain that Vac2 does not do a good job of stopping hackers.
345 hours since I started using Xfire back in mid-March of last year. That's certainly not all of the time I spent in CS: Source, but if you want to add in 5-10 more hours, you're more than welcome to.

So why would I bother with lying? I've no reason to and I haven't lied. I haven't seen a cheater in months in all of my playing. And you're right about one thing. VAC2 doesn't stop hackers, it is used to ban them and deter them and to make lives harder for them. Like I said, you don't know the statistics on how well it's working so your opinion is just that, opinion.

Ok... lets stop talking about source since it doesnt matter. If anyone were to go play 1.6 in ANY random pub that is somewhat full, i can GARUNTEE to you that there is atleast one hacker every time. More often than not it is more than that. And to anyone who doesnt believe me, challenge me, i bet you if you give me 15 mins i can find atleast 5 (sercure 1.6) servers with blatant hackers in them.

oh, and the esea client is exactly magic itself either.

I haven't played CS in a while, but if you think VAC sucks then you never played CS during 1.1 - 1.3. It was so bad that tons and tons of anti cheat 3rd party programs spawned out of everywhere, hell that's where the infamous punkbuster came from. VAC was more effective than any of them when it was released and basically made pubs bearable again and worked well into 1.6. I haven't pubbed much since 2004 so maybe it's gotten worse, but VAC certainly isn't worthless.

One thing though that VAC was never really good at was catching the hardcore cheaters who knew how VAC worked, when it updated, and how to make their cheats work around it. People that dedicated to cheating really aren't that much of a threat to pubs though. Now league play...well I don't see how CAL's solution is going to be any better than VAC was against the really hardcore hacker crowd.

clwns from Visual Gaming was banned yesterday from CEVO

Many say he has been VAC2 banned as well because not one person has seen him playing since.

He has been banned from about 4 other games as well for hacking.

The verdict isn't 100% for sure because there is always that margin of human error. But ....

Human error? I have never once seen a legit player wrongfully banned.

You've never seen a legit player wrongfully banned from a server? You kidding me?

I hope he means CAL league demo reviews. And even then...

If he means in general though, well I've been banned from more servers than I care to recall for "cheating"

Anyone who finds a "hacker" more than once or twice a month just doesn't know a fuck about spotting cheaters. I'd bet if there was some major cheat reporting system somewhere, most the reports would be filed with comments such as "he kill me 8 times".

It's been months and months since I've seen a blatent cheater in a Source game. I don't see where people keep experiencing cheaters in "every server they go to" when I can join random servers and not experience one.
                            I was talking about 1.6.

If I knew an admin was in the server I usually tried to hold back some so I wouldn't have to go through the trouble of finding a new server :\

I was referring in regards to a league play - Not general pub play. Admins in pubs are always banning legit players ... just because they are good - I have to admit I have done it in past as well.
