Custom Map Release: de_witness

Custom map creator, Wintermute, passes along word that his latest creation for CS: Source, de_witness has been released in its final form for public enjoyment. The map finds the terrorists trying to kill off a key witness or his buddies, and the lovable CT's trying their best to stop this assination attempt.



The map features two bombsites, one outside the office of the witness and the other is the van where the others are waiting for transport. There are multiple, branching paths each round (like in Havana), and a total of 40 spawn points. If interested you can download the map from Wintermute's website.

I dunno about this one - I love custom maps and heard good things about this one... But, I think, it does not utilize enough of Source engine dynamics (that make sense?)

Perhaps someone who's played a map like this can answer my question... if all the terrorists die, but the bomb has been planted, the round isn't over (waiting for someone to defuse or the bomb to go off). What if the VIP then reaches the rescue point? Does the rescue not count, as the bomb continues to count down? Or does the fact that the T's planted the bomb get disregarded and only the rescue counts?

There is no VIP in this map. There isn't anybody who plays as the key witness, it's a fictional person that you never see.

I'm not impressed by the screenshots. Can someone tell me, does it play well?

The choice of screenshots is poor. I know the map has better points to take screenshots from.
