DE_VILLA ADDED TO CAL SEASON 5 ROTATION

As some of you know the last couple weeks the esteemed mapper, DNvCross (cpl_mill), has been busy beta testing his newest map de_villa over at the CAL forums. The reviews for this map have been nothing short of outstanding and everyone seems to love it. Everyone also wanted it to replace de_aztec as the Pre-season week 2 map for CAL CS:S Season 5 - CAL admins started a poll last week and de_villa won by a landslide. CAL admin "Atik" just posted on the forums "Villa for week2 of preseason, spread the word."



Well, Atik, I believe I just helped spread the word.

until CAL adds the file to their ftp and files section the link to the forum thread will have to do - I was reading the front page of cal cs:s division and noticed that the preseason map rotation under "Quick Info" had changed ... So I investigated the forums and sure enough Atik had JUST made a post about it - So their is no way of getting it from the files section just yet - But I am sure in the next few minutes it will be available there as well.

A CAL map that everyone can agree on (not counting you teenage rejects that would disagree just to be doing so)... surely this can't be possible!

ran through this map a bit, seems pretty decent. not too keen on there being more spots and entrances to cover than there are people on a team, though.

What I love is mappers that release beta's with full names... why not call it de_villa_beta1 that way when it goes final there are not 10 maps with the same name....

Hmm, not sure I would have called him a noob mapper, since he's already got at least one popular map in a CAL rotation. (But then, what do I expect from someone who didn't absorb the first sentence in the article or visit the article's link?)

But I do understand his point ... although hardly agree with calling him a noob mapper ... But most mappers do put a _beta# at the end of the map name until it is ready to go final
