Steam News Update - CS: Source and Dod: Source

Good week for you guys? Anyone else enjoying SiN Episodes: Emergence? Seems to be getting a number of good reviews, both from large review sites and from the consumers. At any rate, Valve has rolled out their latest Steam news update. This update mentions a bit on some CS: Source content in the works as well as the first look at a new Day of Defeat: Source map.
We hope everyone who is playing through the first Sin Episode, Emergence is enjoying the game. From the feedback we've seen, it appears that people are having a lot of fun. It's exciting for us at Valve to see the first episodic game released on Steam, and we're looking forward to our own Episode One coming out in a little less than three weeks.

Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source are also both gearing up for releases in the next few weeks. Counter-Strike: Source has more HDR-enabled versions of maps on the way, along with some enhancements to the game itself. Day of Defeat: Source is getting ready for a significant release that will add a number of new features, along with a new map named Colmar. Colmar is the first map to take advantage of a new objective system that allows us to build different kinds of levels than currently exist. Stay tuned for specifics on how the map plays out, but for now here's a screenshot of the sleepy night-time village.

So, did the phrase "enhancements to the game" give anybody else a cold chill?

More updates is a good thing. =) Speaking of SiN Episodes, I hope I buy it sooner or later.

Enhancements to the game probably just means bug fixes. Or a return of the shield.

I like how the heads are like watermelons in SiN.

Zips always beats me to the punch!

Might I add Mr. Zips, in regards to the big post yesterday about BETA ENGINE ... And your issue with Aztec ... Remember what I said I thought was cauing the issue for you??? I thought it was HDR related and came to the conclusion that they are adding HDR to Aztec.... Might I quote Valve themselves...

The map looks fun. I have a strong passion for loving snow for some reason.

It might be just me, but that Colmar looks extremely familiar to a map in DoD 1.3. Maybe it's just because I'm on 6 hours of sleep.

Colmar looks like the map Northend or something like that. One of the best DoD maps in my opinion. I wish they'd put more maps out faster though. even though I know it's really hard to make a map, I tend to play the shit out of a new map when it first comes out then get sick of it.

I hope there is a fix for:

                    defuse bug

                    Shadows

                    Clipping

Tweak all the guns (or just put a scope on the m3 )

                    POV

Port CZ hostage AI or something better.

Was going to add SourceTV but that's in the works.

While those screenshots above aren't mine, a good deal of other screenshots around here are.

And really... for the most part everything runs pretty smooth at 1280x1024 4xAA, 8xAF.

I got it pre-ordered with steam silver pack and it's a REALLY good game. Even when it first came out with 3 maps it was comparable to CS. Now I don't see any reason why you wouldn't want to buy it. there's been a few more maps released since it came out, and it's getting more and more stable every day. I'd say go for it.
