    Source Engine and SourceTV Betas

Like there was with the Friends BETA, there is a new BETA on the block and this one is for the Source Engine and SourceTV.
We are enabling a new Source Engine Beta system. This will allow you to run Source games with the latest beta version of the engine. You can use this feature to ensure mods will be compatible with a soon to be released version of the Source engine and report any bugs or compatibility issues before they are released to a wide audience.
To enable the beta, the shortcut to your Steam should look like this image with the -beta engine modifier. Also, those participating in the BETA should take the time to report any bugs they find to ensure a final release that is as error free as possible.

Zips submitted that bug report! goooooooooooooo zips! Imma see if I can reproduce it.

EDIT: I tried to reproduce the bug and was unable to ... which means it is a certain (video) setting that is messing it up.

I played with WinXP Prof, AMD64 3400+, 512MB RAM, 6800GS and had it at medium settings ... Everything looked legit and as it should on Aztec ... On that bug report I suggest you add this stuff...

            Operating System

            Processor Model

            Processor Speed

            System RAM

            Video Card Model

            Sound Card Model

            CS Settings

This will help Valve reproduce the bug and find out what is causing that for you ....

Wanna know my theory???: de_aztec is the next map that they are adding HDR to and this bug is a HDR related issue or something like that. Try disabling HDR with beta mode on and see what happens ... try messing with your settings and see if it happens everytime or only with your normal settings ... That will help valve out on your bug report.

Yeah, I added the rest of my technical info there. Maybe you're right about the HDR. Though I did disable it and experienced no change. Whitewalls still there in the BETA and not in the non-BETA.

                  Software: DX9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

In-game I use DX Level 95 (Results in the 9.0+).

                  Same as I always have.

Unless the beta command is somehow forcing a different DX level on me (and it displayed no change in the video options to indicate that it did), I'm not sure what's up. I'm sure they'll be looking into it though.

Yeah, but I made sure it was still in DX9 mode everywhere, and it was.
