Since nobody has so far acknowledged it, I'm going to make a point of noting Simplex's hilarious reference. Well, slightly ammusing reference at least.
hardly anyone has 360. hardly anyone WANTS 360. GAMES FOR IT COST 50 QUID!!! no-one would buy games (well, pretty much no-one) so just face it. 360 is too expensive it wouldnt be profitable for valve to release games on it. Besides, everyone wants css for pc not xbox. css for xbox was a failure. In Game (quite a few of them) there were tons of copies piled onto shelves and none being sold. so valve will probably try it and abandon it.

Nobody wants them? They did sell fairly well despite the constant errors I keep see being reported... and that I've personally seen from display cases in stores (3 different stores, 3 crashed 360's though to be fair one of them was hardlocked).
They're arguably the kings of the PC development realm, and the 360 doesn't offer gamers anything more than a dumbed down PC gaming experience.
But yeah, I guess if you're dumb enough to spend $400 on a 360, you're dumb enough to spend $50-$60 on a lesser game ported from the PC.
Consolegamers could argue that PC gamers are the dumbest gamers arround spending way to much money to keep their PC's uptodate when they can play the latest games on their consoles for a lot less money much longer..
And I think consolegame sales are much higher then PC game sales, so that might also explain why Valve still tries to jump on the gameconsole-bandwagon, just as ID and Epic etc have done now..
Newell: That product was the first big retail disappointment we’ve had in the history of the company. So that sort of caused us to scratch our heads a little bit. We’ve never missed our forecast on any significant product before, so the fact that that product under performed by somewhere between the factor of two to three was really surprising to us. We still haven’t figured out what the hell that meant.
I thought Valve missed the mark because they misjudged the console audience. I don't think it had the same appeal or was seen as the same landmark game the PC target was hungery for. The fact it shipped towards the end of the Xbox's lifespan was probably a factor too.

God willing all future news items will be phrased in the form of an eighties lyric.

Sure, they could TRY to argue that, but they'd ultimately fail to make a point, and just look stupid as hell.

Lol
You know absolutley nothing about Xbox 360 or gaming do you
2 million xbox 360 in usa
250000 in the uk
55000 in australia
overall total atm is aprox 4.5 million
microsoft has opened 2 new manufacturing plants to cope with demand.
half life and cz were top sellers on xbox
half life 2 was a poor seller on xbox and 360
Live has over 3 million suscribers
Valve games will be released via marketplace just like steam
Halo 3 will be released in NOV est sales could top 6 million (same as halo2)
The Xbox 360 will have a price reduction of £80 for core and £120 for premium package in september a 100 gig hard drive will also be added to the package.
If Valve can tap into Live as looks the case they will have a ready made portal for source and will then be able to licence the source engine to new console developers.
Its a huge step within the industy and can only be of benefit to Gamers.
So before people rant and rave perhaps getting there facts correct might be a good idea .

I think it's you that looks stupid as hell then entRo.. Because you know very well playing games on consoles is cheaper, that's the whole point of those things.. And if you really don't (want to) know, well, you're just being dumb, sorry..

In my area, no-one wants xbox 360, no-one's buying it and no-one probably will want it. There are tons of xbox 360s on sale in the area (big shopping centre, 2 game stores) and on average, about 1 xbox 360 is bought a week from the shops. Yes, 1 from each shop, 2 a week, and that is slowing. None of my mates have it, none of them want it, so around here, it is a massive failure. Everyone wants games for ps2, psp and pc.

yeah, no-one in my area wants them, because of so many errors/crashes, too high price, INSANE costs for games (I mean, like, wtf? who the F*CK would want to pay FIFTY QUID for a freakin 360 game when you can get one for like 25-35 quid for pc?!) and basically, pretty much, being so unpopular anyone with a 360 is either considered a fool or a sad reject who hasn't got a life. So yeah, no consoles sold to us guys mate.
and I can appreciate SOME people want it, but to sell that good? Must be the americans... typical.
