In game the HDR doesn't look too bright, well, on my monitor anyway, it looks perfectly fine.

I guess the keeping of the Arctic models paves way for a possible source version of survivor? Or perhaps an all new winter-based source map??? One can only hope
cs_office and as_tundra have snow in them too. Besides I don't think Valve kept the Artic model for another reason that the fact it was already there.

the HDR on nuke seems like when i look at the sun it lags my PC a great deal but if i do it on dust it runs perfectly for some reason... not talking about perfect as in 100fps im talking about 30-40 :P but its smooth.

yeah the HDR does look a little over the top to be honest but be rate ya know :P

I say meh - The new models don't look that great, and I've never been a fan of the GSG model. And I'm sure the arctic guy looked a lot cooler in previous versions, maybe they're just my rose tinted nostalgia glasses.

And being that I can't run HDR, dust makes no difference to me. Get some new maps in there!

This is one of the best update to come out in a long long time!!! w00t w00t!! THX VALVe, this update r0x0rZ t0 t3h m4x0rZ!!! The 2 player models: Artic Avenger, GSG9 really completes the models list in Counter-Strike: Source now!!! THEY LOOK FREAKIN AWESOME AND EXTREMELY DETAILED!!! Just look at the mask on the Artic and the helmet on the GSG9!! They look soo freakin outrageously 1337 t0 t3h m4x0rZ in details!!! The lag compensation and unified anim is also one of the many best things about the update!! I LOVE IT!!! Unifed anim so that the player models on the client and the server move in sync and the lag compensation lowering the differences between one client seeing another make the game much much much betterrr!!rrrrrrrr!!! Thank you VALVe!!! THAnk you for this sweet ♥♥♥ update !!! Love how you surprise us all!!! Keep this up!! Keep up the amazing work!!! <3 <3 <3

              I like that Counter-Terrorist GSG9 model.

lag compensation? Someone mind informing me of what that means at the moment? Less jittering animations or hitbox lag? (i havent been able to play CSS for liek the last 2 weeks ;_; )

Is it me or did this release seem a bit hurried compared to all of the rest? It sorta gives you the feeling that all of the player models were just sitting there waiting to be released but valve just likes making us wait... I guess I could think of some economic benefits that could arise from such a strategy, but then again there are also benefits to a full release.

:) It only took 20 months to get 4 models :p

All together it took way too long to get the models complete. As satisfied and surprised as I am to see this, it's something that should have been done a long time ago and is pathetic.

i agree too....they're freaking 8 player models, and instead they release 2. i love timely updates as much as the next guy, but this was a game that was on retail shelves

but hopefully if the big V goes above and beyond the standard 8 and starts slapping in some updated CZ (Spetsnaz? Militia T with the pimp blackness) or altered models (SAS with the hood up OR down?) i'd probably forget about it in a heart beat

I'm not really too bothered about the slowness of model updates, they were never a big deal for me. I personally would have liked to seen Spetsnaz and Militiaman before GSG9 and arctic, but still.

Seriously though, get some new maps out. Prove that Valve can actually make a totally new map without it being a crock of ass like port and compound.
