May Will Be One SiNful Month

Appearing today in the Steampowered news section, is a press release detailing the release date for SiN Episode 1: Emergence. Not one for reading press releases? Fair enough, you need only read the rest of this news piece for your information!

Set to be released in stores on May 9, 2006, the game (developed primarily by Ritual Entertainment and published by EA) will hit store shelves in Europe, North America, Austrailia, and New Zealand. The game will have a retail price of $19.95 and is also slated for release via the Steam content delivery system.

For those extremely eager to get a jump on the preloading phase for the Steam release, it turns out that you can start right this very second. (Surprised me to see this when logging into Steam just now.)

Update: Those who preorder now will be able to play the original SiN 1 and SiN 1 Multiplayer immediately. Alfred Reynolds also informed the HLDS mailing list of the availability of the SiN 1 dedicated server.[break="full press release"]
EA to Distribute First New Episode to Gamers Worldwide

Dallas, TX. - April 5, 2005 - Ritual Entertainment® and Valve® today announced that SiN Episode 1: Emergence will be available in retail outlets on May 9, 2006. Distributed throughout Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand by Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS), Emergence is the first in a new series of episodic adventures from Ritual that are powered by the award-winning Source™ game engine technology developed by Valve.

SiN Episode 1: Emergence, available for the PC, will offer explosive first person shooter experiences that reintroduce and re-imagine the world of SiN for the new millennium. Emergence, the first in this series of episodic adventures, expands on the role of Colonel John R. Blade and features never before seen weapons, characters, and environments. SiN Episode 1: Emergence will be available for $19.95.

The fact that EA has a foot in this steam shenanigans hurts me a little inside. First they put Valve's games in boxes, now this :'(

They're merely the publisher. They can't/don't/won't ever do anything to hurt the content of the games.

This really isn't relavent to "CS." yeah I know you guys said you'll be covering steam, but c'mon. if you're going to cover steam, why not change the name?

i'm not trying to flame, I'm just asking this really doesn't concern the cs community.

gpig is being sarcastic. More people get pissed when e-sports news is posted than the amount of people that get pissed when non-news like this is posted.

But does it really matter? If you don't want to read it, hey, fuckin don't.

                      What the hell is SIN?

I bet rizzuh just sits on his ass all day eating cheeto's and when people ask him how he makes so much money, he tells them that someone posts news on his site all day and he gets money for it.
