Steam News Update - 2 New Player Models & HDR

The buzz word as of late seems to be HDR. Once again, HDR returns to the spotlight in CS: Source in this week's news update. In the upcoming months Valve has hinted that the HDR enabled version of de_dust will be released as well as (and hold on to your rockers for this one) two new player models for CS: Source!
The months of April and May are looking like they will be two of the busiest months for Steam since the launch of Half-Life 2. First, we'll be starting the preload and preparation for launch of SiN Episode 1: Emergence, developed by Ritual Entertainment. This is the first in a series of installments set in the SiN universe that will be delivered via Steam. Next will be the preload and launch of the first in a series of episodic releases from Valve, Half-Life 2: Episode One. The preload for that will begin roughly one month before it is made available.

Counter-Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source also have some new content nearing completetion. Counter-Strike: Source will see the addition of two new player models and an HDR enabled version of de_dust. Day of Defeat: Source has a new map on the way that will introduce a new gameplay mode.

Lastly, we want to extend our congratulations to the Dystopia team for winning the 2006 IGF Half-Life 2 Mod of the Year.
There's a whole lot of news packed into this week's news item. SiN, Episode 1, two new player models, HDR dust, and Day of Defeat: Source additions. Whew! Did you get all that? There's going to be a quiz on it tomorrow!

They need to focus on tweaking the source engine more instead of giving us more lag i mean content

I can't wait to see what the GSG9 and Arctic are going to look like.

I also wonder if they're going to remake and add the Spetsnaz and Militia characters from CZ into CS:S

Dystopia didnt really deserve to win, its just tfc with robots and tron. There were alot more original and better thought out mods that should've won, but the judges only like eye candy and the game is only fun for 5 minutes, which is usually how long they play/watch it.

Arctic Joe : Source, I cant wait!

I can't wait for the new player models so i can hear everyone whine about how bad they are. Especially since all the cs cource player models are top notch.

you HAVE played the maps that Valve has developed, right? why anyone would ask for more of that is beyond me.

BUT I really wish they would fix the crouch in source so u could see where ur eyes are not where ur gun is, Its a pain in the arse getting shot behing something when they can clearly see ur face yet u can not see them.

the bug where you can go fully crouched, release crouch to peak over boxes, and hit it again before you're fully standing is pretty awesome. you can clearly see over boxes, and the game never shows you moving from your crouched position. you can see them, they can't see you.
