Wow, isn't that ugly. Like most people mentioned, I don't really mind ads, but I think VALVe should give users the choice to implent ads into their server. However, that revenue generated should go towards the host who paid for the server, not VALVe. Much like websites and such.

Hmmm.... Make money for implementing ads into a game and it wont affect gameplay : Or listen to a community that pretty much bitches about anything and everything (i.e. the name change for aftermath) and make no extra money at all....

Every generation seems to despair at the new and innovative places advertising appears. The fact is, anything you don't own can be used to communicate a message, from parking stripes to stickers on currency. Businesses are ever more anxious to gain your attention, love or hate it (which more or less irrelevant), your kids will walk through a world painted with ad's on every conceivable surface, be it gas, liquid or solid.

Server admins will not customize ingame assets for the sole reason of removing product placement.



I think your idea of "ads" is much different than Valve's.
