    VIP Mod Released

Update: The VIP mod for CS: Source has just been released!
    There are 3 downloads available.

  • The full server package including the VIP Mod Plugin plus all 9 official VIP Mod Maps

  • The Server Plugin Only File

  • The Vapour Content Delivery Software for the Client Install

All 3 of these can be downloaded from the PAF Files Site located at: http://downloads.punkassfraggers.com

The Vapour Content Delivery System can also be downloaded directly from: http://www.vapour-online.com and is REQUIRED for the client download of VIP Mod V1.0
  • Server admins should head on over to the PAF download section to grab the necessary files. For those not wishing to partake in the Vapour method of obtaining the client files, simply join a server running the mod and a VIP map and the files should be automatically downloaded for you.[break="ye olde news"]L. Duke passes along word that the community made VIP mod for CS: Source is about ready for public release later today!
The VIP Mod packages have been uploaded to the various content servers and everything is ready for the release. There will be a short wait while we verify that the Vapour content delivery is all configured correctly and get the OK from Patrick at Vapour.

We're hoping to get this released today, so check back on this page for the latest news and, soon, download links.

Thank you for all your interest and "Protect the VIP team!"

    L. Duke
Server admins should get ready to install this mod. Trust me, your players will thank you. More news once the mod is released to the public.

Sod this, I can't be bothered to install yet another content delivery system on my PC. The VIP mod is surely one of the biggest releases for the system, and will surely act as a trojan horse to expand it's user base.

But I'd rather just have all my Source games happily concatenated with Steam. I'm sure in the future we'll have to put up with other content delivery systems, and competition is good, but i'd rather keep the numbers low.

            Should help you out some.

Very happy to see this. I played quite a bit of the VIP mod this past weekend (read, waaay too many hours) with a friend, and we had a blast! I was getting a lot of the purple reflection glitch on several maps, but I'm hoping this download will clear that up.

As far as Vapour is concerned... it's not the most polished interface, but it is incredibly convenient for anything that is on there. Sadly it has some bugs that annoy me, most notably in failing to recognize if you have a mod installed already that it didn't install itself.

Thanks again to L. Duke, Soopa, and everyone else who helped make this happen. as_oilrig_wk for life! :)

just played it earlier, it takes like 2 minutes to dl on 256k dsl and it's really the exact same experience as 1.6, but obviously updated. I think this was a really good idea. <3

assassination was always so much fun, don't know why they didn't include it officially.
