    CAL Deals with Cheats

The Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL) have partnered with Verizon in order to provide servers to the Invite, Premier, and Main divisions this year. The servers will be widely spread throughout the United States in order to provide a more balanced game with higher playability.

CAL has also opted to go with the ESEA's anti-cheat client in order to better regulate the matches in the Invite and Premier divisions. Taking it one step further, the ESEA has developed an advanced security module that will validate players based on their registered CAL rosters.
The Cyberathlete Amateur League (CAL) has selected E-Sports Entertainment’s (ESEA) anti-cheat Client to help police and standardize all Counter-Strike Invite and Premier matches for Season 16.[...]

In addition to protecting players against third party cheats or client exploits, E-Sports Entertainment has also developed a custom authentication module to validate the players in the server against their registered CAL rosters. Doing so will limit the use of ringers and hold teams more accountable for using any roster violations. This season will be a building block to implement the ESEA Client into all CAL Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source divisions for future seasons.
They don't seem to be taking things lightly this year.

        nah.

better off it being more exclusive, otherwise people will be testing it for ways to bypass and exploits and such.

this way, the cheaters that actually get far due to cheating, will suffer direly.

They do need it for Cal-O, hackers are killing legit teams chances of making it to the upper divisions.

Why would they only do it for M+?

Anyone who cheats in competitive CS should be banned from CAL for LIFE.

Then cheats would go down unless the person wants to buy another copy of Source.
