I'd give it a 5/10..Only because the poop doesn't blow up. HOWEVER! It's better looking poop now..in murkier water...that you can't shoot up. It's like...ice..poop..water with junk floating in it. Yick.

I would have hopped in and tested hossie ai myself, but I don't have access to CS:S.

Just launch Steam and the update will begin for you. If you already have it open, reopen it.

            Miltiia is awesome. 10/10

Hate militia, but that poop looks nice with hdr. First HDR s.hi.t ever?

                Gonna try the map now.

DoD:S maps are all HDR compiled, so is de_nuke.

Militia was a sober, rocky canyon, but this is a lush and green country farm? Sure, all of those details look decent--at least for a game based on the Source engine, but it definitely doesn't deserve the militia title in my opinion. I would have liked it to take on the same visual theme, at least. I'm not saying it is a bad looking map, though, so I hope the docile, Valve praisers that make up the majority of those that post here don't go too haywire on me for not conforming to their consistent rant of wholly yielding, positive feedback.

But don't have them go up a ladder or out the door. You still need to stop and wait until they come closer or they will stop.
This might have to do with the hosties requiring you to escort them. The distance you can get from them before they stop following needs to be tweaked.

played it last night for 3 hours. pretty sweet. i really like the additional routes added. T's still have the advantage but CT's have more routes to choose from so the T's have to spread out more to cover everything. and the CT approaches have more cover than the 1.6 version. the inside of the shack is as pretty as anything in HL2. i get about 65fps outside using dx8.0 and mid-level settings.

Oh well, militia has its own system requirements. First of all my 1gb ram does not provide me a smooth gameplay anymore. Second my 9700 pro is clearly not enough as i can get fps values like 30 in some areas. My schedule tomorrow is: 1- wake up, 2- buy a pci-x mainboard, 3- buy a good vid card...

Overally militia looks like another game, maybe something like far cry's multiplayer mod. It sure is fun to play but i wonder whether the future of CSS maps will be in the same concept...

I hope so. The industrial/barren look is wearing a little thin on some maps (Dust, Dust2, Port, Compound). I don't have anything against them in terms of gameplay. I love playing the maps, but the scenery sometimes needs a few extra splashes of color.

Militia is a nice visual feast for the eyes while actually providing new areas and tactics because of that added color.

The industrial urban look is getting a bit old, but I'd like to see an upscale modern urban look. That hasn't really been done yet (well) with source and it would be interesting to see.

Assault has been the best urban setting in Source we've gotten (as far as official maps go), but yeah... it definitely still has an older, dingy feeling to it. Maybe the guys at VALVe see enough of their own city to be sick of that look... those of you who have been in downtown Seattle know what I mean. Gotta love Pike Place market, though. That'd make an interesting CS or DE map, what with the childcare center downstairs and the general touristy feeling...

Either that, or just a de_valvehq, where the terrorists are crazed CS1.3 fans trying to blow up VALVe headquarters for a combination of Steam, the jumping nerf, and "CSS hitbox errors" haha.

That said, can anyone think of a modern urban map that has done well? Seems like there's got to be one, but nothing is coming to my mind at the moment.
