There wasn't a specific Aug 17 post for CSN's 6th birthday, but the next month rizzuh mentioned its passing in the post about the new design.
Dang I missed the CS birthday post this year. Was there one?
And the cs-nation one too ;_;
Catch you guys next year.
We totally ignored Counter-Strike's 6th birthday on June 18, as well as Minh Le and Cliffe's birthdays on June 27. Whether you date CS:S from the Aug. 11 Cybercafé beta, the Aug. 18 CZ/ATI beta, or the Oct. 7 official release, we ignored all of its 1st birthdays this summer/fall as well.
I, for one, am looking forward to ignoring many more birthdays in 2006, much like MikeJ now ignores our site.

Yes I do. It's the same game. The only reason cafes had the release 1st is because of big fees they didn't have to pay before.

Counter-Strike BETA 1.0 was released at 8pm PST on June 18, 1999 whether the changelog reflects that fact or not. I'll just go ahead and make the safe assumption that you weren't around at that point in time.
